DONOR MANAGEMENT

What is DONOR MANAGEMENT?

Donor Management is a fertility treatment option that involves using eggs from a donor to help individuals or couples start or grow their families.

It is often recommended for individuals who are unable to use their own eggs due to premature ovarian failure, poor egg quality, or other fertility issues. At Pacific IVF Center Nepal, we offer advanced Donor Management services to help individuals and couples achieve their family-building goals.

Donor Management is a multi-step process that begins with finding an appropriate egg donor. This can be a friend or family member, or it can be an anonymous donor who has undergone extensive medical and psychological screening. The egg donor undergoes ovarian stimulation to produce multiple eggs, which are then retrieved through a minimally invasive surgical procedure called an egg retrieval.

The retrieved eggs are then combined with sperm in a laboratory setting to create embryos. The embryos are allowed to grow and develop in the laboratory for a few days before being transferred back into the recipient’s uterus.

The transfer is typically performed using a thin catheter, which is passed through the cervix and into the uterine cavity. If the embryo implants and begins to grow, it will develop into a baby.

Donor Management is often recommended for individuals or couples experiencing a variety of fertility issues, including:

  • Premature ovarian failure: This is a condition in which the ovaries stop functioning before the age of 40, resulting in an inability to produce eggs. Donor Management can help individuals with premature ovarian failure achieve pregnancy.
  • Poor egg quality: As a woman gets older, the quality of her eggs tends to decline, making it more difficult to get pregnant. Donor Management can help individuals with poor egg quality achieve pregnancy.
  • Genetic disorders: If a couple is at risk of passing on a genetic disorder to their child, donor Management can be used in conjunction with preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) to select embryos that do not carry the genetic disorder.

Donor Management is a highly effective fertility treatment, with success rates that depend on a variety of factors, including the woman’s age, the cause of infertility, and the quality of the embryos. At Pacific IVF Center Nepal, we are committed to providing the highest quality care and support to help you achieve your family-building goals.
